Why Try SCUBA / Discover SCUBA Diving?
Be it SSI Try SCUBA or PADI Discover SCUBA Diving, this course is an introduction to the practice of SCUBA Diving. Doing this, you will get a feeling of what it is to dive and breathe while being submerged, through a regulator; you will experience what it is to be comfortably breathing underwater while seeing fish around you as if you were one them, visiting their natural habitat. You’ll familiarize yourself with the underwater environment and test this wonderful practice, to then and if you choose to do so – immerse yourself in further training to be a great SCUBA diver!
First, we’ll do a theory lesson explaining all things SCUBA, what you need to know, basics about diving and the diving world, and will answer any questions you may have.
Then, I will help you get familiarized with the equipment and we’ll practice some skills.
We’ll check-out a book of species we most-likely will be seeing underwater.
And then,
We’ll get ready to go in the water.
Firstly, we’ll work on you getting comfortable with the gear, looking through the mask, breathing via the regulator, experimenting buoyancy and its control.
Once you are at ease with all these new sensations, we’ll do some exercises and move around confined waters.
Then, it’s time to focus on simply enjoying being underwater and observing the local marine life while feeling the buoyancy – it is an incredible feeling!
You do not need ANY previous experience. It’s great even if it’s your first time in the Ocean!
If you’re doubting whether or not you want to get your SCUBA certification, this experience will help you make a decision.
Keep in mind:
– You need to be at least 10 years old,
– The maximum depth will be 10-12 metres (32-40 feet).
– You do not need to worry about bringing a camera,
– You will be insured during your SCUBA discovery/ Try SCUBA.

Why become a Basic Diver?
The Basic Diver program is a quick and easy introduction to the world of scuba diving, with more time, more depth, more safety and more confidence underwater… and why not, more enjoyment!
The Basic Diver is the next natural step right after the Try SCUBA, and it is ideal if you want more than that first taste of diving but still don’t want to commit to or invest in a full certification just yet.
You’ll spend longer underwater, get to dive a bit deeper, and gain more confidence, security and control, always with the company of a professional and at your own pace. Absolute freedom and fun, full of security and the supervision of your favourite professional!
If you have not done the Try SCUBA, we’ll start with similar steps to what has been described above in its section. Otherwise, we’ll follow a structure similar to this one:
First, we’ll build on the basics of scuba diving, starting with a theory lesson and focusing on how diving works, its safety principles, buoyancy, and answering to your questions, so you can feel more prepared.
Once the theory is clear, we’ll move into confined waters, so you get fully comfortable with the equipment underwater, practice key skills, and work on improving your breathing, buoyancy and control.
Once you are ready, we’ll head into the Open Water. There, you will have time to move naturally underwater, feel the buoyancy effects, play with it, feel weightless and relaxed, and explore the local marine life at a deeper level.
You’ll notice the difference: everything will feel slower, easier, more comfortable and more intuitive. It’s like magic!
It is the perfect step to take after your Try SCUBA or even directly your first step, with a more full-on experience, closer to what it feels like to be a certified diver and help you make up your mind about getting your SCUBA certification.
Keep in mind:
– You need to be at least 10 years old,
– The maximum depth will be 10-12 metres (32-40 feet).
– You will be diving in both Confined and Open waters.
– You do not need to worry about bringing a camera.
– You cannot fly or go to high altitudes after these dives (minimum of 12 hrs).
– You will be insured during your SCUBA discovery/ Try SCUBA.
- Your equipment*: mask, fins, wetsuit, regulator, BCD, air tank.
- Insurance for the activity of the day.
- Theory lesson and learning materials.
- Practice lesson.
- Immersion 1: Confined waters.

What’s next
El programa de Scuba Diver de SSI combina el aprendizaje en línea con inmersiones en aguas confinadas y abiertas, por lo que tendrás los conocimientos básicos necesarios para poder bucear con seguridad y confianza. Aprenderás todo lo que debes saber para bucear en aguas abiertas hasta los 12 metros de profundidad junto con un profesional de SSI. Con este programa completarás casi la mitad de la formación del programa de Open Water Diver y podrás actualizar tu certificación fácilmente. Solo tienes que cursar la parte académica restante y las sesiones en aguas confinadas, además de dos inmersiones de formación en aguas abiertas.
Scuba Diver

El Scuba Diver es un primer nivel opcional de buceo recreativo. El curso consta aproximadamente de 6 horas de teoría y 3 salidas a mar, que viene a ser la mitad de un curso normal de OPEN WATER DIVER y está pensado para hacerlo en tan sólo 2 días.
Parte de la teoría puede ser online. Una vez terminado, el buceador/a podrá hacer inmersiones hasta 12 metros de profundidad, pero siempre acompañado de un/a guía subacuático o similar. Este curso es opcional, y se puede hacer directamente la formación de OPEN WATER DIVER.
Puedes realizar este curso a partir de los 10 años de edad.
Ideal si tienes poco tiempo pero muchas ganas de empezar a bucear. Con este curso obtendrás una certificación básica que te permite bucear hasta 12 metros, siempre acompañado por un profesional PADI. ¡Una introducción perfecta al mundo submarino!
